PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride)

Advantages:

● Good tensile & compressive strength, high surface hardness, and resistant to acid and alkali corrosion.

● Good insulation, excellent processing performance and easy to produce.

● Smooth inner wall, small fluid resistance, strong water conveyance ability.

● The cost is relatively affordable, which is cheaper among all kinds of plastic hoses.

Disadvantages:

● Insufficient elasticity, and worse flexibility than other plastic hoses.

● Service life is shorter, because it is easy to wear, scratch, punctured, prone to age under ultraviolet radiation for a long time, soften under high temperature, fracture under low temperature (normal temperature tolerance range - 10 ℃ ~ 60 ℃).

● We have to face the risks of releasing toxic chemicals, environmental pollution and potential health during the production, use and disposal of PVC. Due to the health reason, Europe, Japan and South Korea imposed restrictions on products made from PVC.

● The cost of PVC recycling is high, with a global average recycling rate of less than 1%.

PE (Polyethylene)

● Non-toxic and resistant to chemical corrosion (except strong oxidizing acids)

Disadvantages:

● Slightly lower strength than PVC, and it is prone to aging when exposed to long-term sunlight (UV inhibitors need to be added).

● Low tensile strength, which means the deformation or fracture may occur under higher pressure.

Application: Agricultural irrigation, low-temperature environments in horticulture, and scenarios that require frequent bending.

TPE (Thermoplastic Elastomer)

Advantages:

● Good flexibility and elasticity (high strength and high resilience), great stretching and recovery performance, and is not prone to tangling.

● Environmentally friendly, safe and non-toxic. No vulcanization required, and can be directly injection molded. Moreover, 100% recycled and reused.

● Usually be able to keep good flexibility and elasticity from -20°C to 60°C and not prone to hardening or softening to be deformation.

● Wear-resistant and scratch-resistant, better performance than PVC.

● Light weight, save strength when dragging and carrying, especially for the women and the elder.

Disadvantages:

● Higher cost than PVC.

●Slightly inferior to natural latex in terms of elasticity, tensile strength and elongation, but it can usually meet most demands in practical use.

Application: The first choice for various scenarios such as home gardening, car washing, and cleaning, especially suitable for areas with distinct four seasons or extreme temperatures, where durability and user experience are pursued.

Natural Latex

Advantages:

● Excellent flexibility and elasticity (higher strength and resilience than TPE, and is more resistant to high pressure), is not easy to break, stretches very smoothly, and almost does not tangle.

● Green and environmentally friendly, safe and non-toxic, and relatively easy to recycle.

● Usually keep excellent flexibility and elasticity at temperatures ranging from -20°C to 70°C

● Extremely lightweight and convenient to carry

Disadvantages:

● It is usually the most expensive option.

● Natural latex has poor oil resistance and may be relatively sensitive to substances such as oils.

Application: Suitable for consumers who have high requirements for the elasticity and flexibility of water hoses with a sufficient budget, or those in cold regions. It can be used for watering in home gardens, delicate gardening work, cleaning pets/cars/garages, courtyard and household cleaning, etc.
